Many who claim to be a "Financial Planner", are not actually trained or educated in the discipline and methodology of Financial Planning; therefore, it is critical that you first VERIFY the authenticity of a person who tells you they are a "Financial Planner".

With a literal "designations alphabet soup", where many of these designees claim to also be "Financial Planners", it became clear that something had to be done to authenticate this for the benefit of the public and professionals alike.

Extensive research by IAQFP has determined that as of this date only 5 designations can justify this claim, and to help the public easily identify such Financial Planners we have awarded these the QFP - Qualified Financial Planner designation, Financial Planning's single universal identifier, as the only one's having actually met the required standards of a Qualified Financial Planner.
